I Swore I Wouldn't Do It...

but I finally broke down and put the play yard around the Christmas Tree. After Friday's unfortunate bulb-swallowing incident, I had no choice but to protect the tree from being destroyed/eaten by my child. Dallas likes to sneak up on the tree when she thinks I'm not paying attention and tear off the glass ornaments. Guaranteed the darn cat will still get in there and mess with it!!!

Black Friday and the Emergency Room Visit

Yesterday started off very nicely. I dropped Dallas off at my Parent's and then took my nephew shopping and then to a movie. I saw a tree for $99 at a door-buster sale and I just had to have it. There will be no live tree in my house anymore. So after I bought the tree and everything else I could fit into my buggy, my nephew and I went to se the new movie "Flushed Away". Love the movie and highly recommend it. I made it back home by late afternoon and decided to put my new tree together while Dallas played with her toys. It was one of those multi-colored pre-lit trees. I have never owned one before but it sure seemed easier than putting on all those darn lights myself. I sat back to admire the new tree once I plugged it in. Dallas sat in my lap and we looked at the tree together. Maybe we would put on the ornaments later that night. Then it happened!!! I saw her chewing on something and fished it out of her mouth. It was a green plastic light holder off the Christmas tree minus the glass bulb. Oh sh*@. Thank goodness we live three minutes from the ER. Three x-rays later we left the hospital. The doctor could see the pieces of the bulb in her but there was nothing they could do. She chewed it up pretty good. Now we just have to let the pieces"pass" through her system. Of course I didn't sleep well last night because I watched her all night long. Needless to say, I have been chasing her away from the tree all day today. I think this child gave me 50 more gray hairs last night!!!

A Prayer of Thanks to You All

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hear this little prayer
And reach across the miles today
that stretch from here to there
So I may feel much closer
to those I'm fondest of,
And they may know I think of them
with thankfulness and love,
And help all people everywhere
who must often dwell apart
To know that they're together
in the haven of the heart.

Potty Mouth Mommy

I really have to watch what I say in front of Dallas from now on. Her vocabulary increased by 2 words this morning!!! I was gathering laundry to do this morning and was fussing about something under my breath when my daughter looked at me and repeated "hell no". I asked her to repeat it and there it was plain as day. Personally, I thought her first curse word would have been "damm computer" because I am always fussing at the computer. Oh well, I will have to write this one in the baby book.

My Child Thinks She's a Dog

My child thinks she's a dog. Dallas is always playing with Noelle's dog toys and bones. I even caught her sitting in the dog bed today chewing on Noelle's rubber bone!!! They constantly play tug-of-war with Noelle's string bones. You have seen the pictures of her in the dog food. I think she needs play dates with humans!!! This is a video I took the other night of them playing with a bone.
