First Trip to the Beach
We stopped at Bilioxi Beach last week while taking Skip over to take care of some business for work. The devastation from the hurricane is still overwhelming. Most of the beaches in that area are closed but we found a few in Bilioxi that were opened but still not lots of people around. Dallas didn't know what to think of the water and sand. She wasn't scared but she wasn't going in!!! It was at least 100 degrees so we didn't stay for long before making the 3 hour trip back home. We will be back in the area after Labor Day so hopefully we will have time for her to play in the sand and get wet.

We tried my son at a 9-3 pm preschool 2x a week for the same reasons.
ReplyDeleteA week into it, I found out that he had been crying for me every day. The teachers had not told me because they thought he needed to separate.
I removed him immediately. There was no reason a small child needed to feel scared, alone or hurt. I kept him at home with me another year before trying another morning enrichment class.
He was ready. He flourished.
I know you have your own reasons for sending her to school. Just don't feel like you have to take anyone else's direction when it comes to your child. You are the mother. You know best.
